Discover the highlights of Valparaiso on a guided walking tour. See the Plaza de La Victoria, the Aníbal Pinto Square, and the Reina Victoria lift. Admire the views from the Paseo Atkinson and the Paseo Yugoslavo.
Meet your guide at the Plaza de La Victoria, with its trees brought from Brazil, in front of the Santiago Severin Library, the Naval Club, and the Valparaiso Cathedral. Take a local trolley to the Aníbal Pinto Square, one of the hearts of the city.
Walk together to take the Reina Victoria lift, one of the oldest and best-restored lifts in the city. Stop at the first viewpoint of the city, just steps from the Dimalow passage, where you can see the silhouette of a Lutheran church on a hill.
Pass by typical places such as the “El Desayuno” restaurant and the Anglican church, a symbol of the British community of the 19th century. From this point, you can see the topography of the hills of Valparaiso, as well as the narrow passages that weave between them.
The next important stop is the Paseo Atkinson, where you can marvel at the colours of the houses, restaurants, and schools. From here, you can see graffiti dedicated to Pablo Neruda, for example. Return to Papudo Street to reach another iconic passage, the Gervasoni.
From this point, take the oldest lift in the city, from 1883, which takes you to the busiest area of the city, Prat Street. Continue all the way to the main square of Valparaiso, Sotomayor Square.
Observe the Valparaiso Naval Building, the Victoria Hotel, the Faculty of Arts and Culture, and the Germania Fire Station, the headquarters of the Valparaiso Fire Department and the entrance to the port.
The most important thing is the monument to the heroes of the naval combat of Iquique. Your last stop is the Paseo Yugoslavo, which you will reach on foot from the Sotomayor Square, after taking the Peral lift.
