In this remote corner, nature reigns supreme among beech forests, crystal-clear streams, silent clearings, and ancient abandoned villages that tell stories of a distant past. Far from the busiest trails, time seems to slow down here, letting you rediscover a genuine connection with the mountains.
On the first day, you'll set off from the village of Cicogna, the “capital” of the Val Grande. You'll hike along ancient paths through the woods, with a scenic stop at the Casa dell'Alpino and a descent to Pogallo, a place steeped in history. The trail continues to Pian di Boit, a secluded clearing where you'll spend the night in a real alpine bivouac, simple and genuine, to experience the mountain in its essence.
On the second day, after breakfast, you'll explore new paths through pristine forests and clearings, immersed in the colours of beech and larch trees. Heading back to Cicogna in the afternoon wraps up a loop that lets you experience the valley in all its authenticity, accompanied by an expert local guide.
