Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Begin your adventure by being picked up from the airport or your hotel before 10 AM. Your professional English-speaking driver-guide will take you on a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife, including ten primate species and over 600 bird species. Enjoy an en-route lunch before arriving at the park in the late afternoon. Check into your accommodation and relax. If time allows, you can go for a late afternoon game drive.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Boat Trip on Kazinga Channel
After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, looking for Cape buffalo, elephants, lions, and leopards. Return to your lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, where you'll see hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and various bird species. After the cruise, you may opt for a brief late afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Day 3: Ishasha Sector & Transfer to Bwindi NP
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving to the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. With a 60-70% chance of spotting these lions, the experience can be truly memorable. After exploring Ishasha, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check into your accommodation and relax in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure the following day.
Optional: For an additional $100, consider chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge before heading to Ishasha (permits must be secured in advance).
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, head to the ranger's post for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette. Begin your trek into the breathtaking Bwindi Forest, characterised by its steep, lush terrain. The trek duration varies, but once you find a gorilla group, you'll spend an unforgettable hour observing them. After this incredible experience, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, surrounded by stunning terraced hills and dotted with 29 unique islands.
Day 5: Departure from Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with views of Lake Bunyonyi’s islands. Then, begin your journey back to Entebbe Airport, stopping for lunch and visiting the Uganda Equator line in Kayabwe for memorable photos and souvenirs. Arrive at the airport in the late afternoon or evening, allowing ample time for your departure flight (recommended for flights at 19:00 or later).
