Bergen (Pass by)
After picking up the guests from the last hotel in the centre of Bergen, we set off in the direction of Geilo. The driver will give you some information about Bergen and the villages we will pass. It takes 1.5 hours to reach the first stop at Steindalsfossen. If this is too long for you, after about half an hour in Trengereid at the roundabout there is the possibility for a short "emergency stop". Please inform the driver in good time ;-)
Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall
  • 1h 15m
As we approach the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall near Norheimsund, the sound of rushing water fills your ears. The towering falls were formed centuries ago when the river changed course, and its majestic 50 metre height makes it one of the most impressive waterfalls in Norway. A winding path leads you behind the waterfall, where you can marvel at the cascading water from the safety of the rock face. This unique and picturesque spot is a must-see for any traveller. For added convenience, there are public toilets and a tourist information centre on-site. And when you need a break, the cosy cafe offers a warm cup of coffee and a selection of souvenirs. But it's not just the waterfall that's worth exploring. The old stone arch bridge is a delightful sight that adds to the character of the area. WE STAY HERE FOR 25 MIN, TRAVEL TIME TO THE NEXT STOP ABOUT 1.45 MIN
Oystese (Pass by)
Øystese is a small and beautiful village located in the municipality of Kvam in Vestland county, Norway. It's situated along the Hardangerfjord and is known for its stunning natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. There's a shopping area, a sandy beach, a marina, and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area. Unfortunately, we don't have time for a stop on this tour and will therefore only drive through this lovely place. After all, the train in Geilo leaves on time and we don't want to miss it.
Hardanger Bridge (Pass by)
We now drive along the Hardangerjord for around 45 minutes, with towering cliffs and shimmering water flanking the road and creating a breathtaking backdrop to our journey. We then reach the 7 km long Vallaviktunel and at its end we arrive at a roundabout inside the tunnel. Here we turn right and a minute later we find ourselves on the Hardanger Bridge, a 1,380-metre-long and 55-metre-high technical masterpiece, which was the longest bridge in Norway and the tenth longest in the world when it was completed. After crossing the Hardanger Bridge, we enter another short tunnel, which also has a roundabout inside it. We turn right again and after a few minutes the Hardongerfjord is on our left. After about 20 minutes we reach the small village of Eidfjord.
Eidfjord Municipality (Pass by)
We continue along the Hardangerfjord and after about 20 minutes we reach the charming village of Eidfjord. This small village lies on the banks of the Eidfjord and offers a stunning view of the fjord and the surrounding mountains. We only drive through this small village.
Voringfossen

As you approach the falls, you'll be greeted by the thunderous sound of rushing water and the mist that rises from the base of the falls. We'll stop at the car park, just a short walk away from the viewing platform. There are also public toilets available. The Fossli Hotel, located nearby, has a cosy cafe that's worth a visit. Outside of the summer months, you can enjoy a cup of coffee by the crackling fireplace. We'll spend about half an hour here, admiring the beauty of the waterfall and the surrounding landscape. WE STAY HERE FOR 30 MINUTES, TRAVEL TIME TO GEILO STATION ABOUT ONE AND A HALF HOURS
Hardangervidda National Park (Pass by)
Now continue uphill to Hardangervidda, marvel at this extraordinary and breathtaking landscape, see rugged mountains, the deep valleys or the unique flora and fauna. You are in the home of the largest reindeer population in Europe. Some of the last snow here only thaws in August. The landscape changes dramatically after just a few minutes' drive. Up here in the north, the tree line is only 900 metres above sea level. At its highest point, the Hardangevidda is around 1500 metres above sea level. TIME AND WEATHER PERMITTING, WE WILL MAKE ONE OR TWO PHOTO STOPS ALONG THE WAY.
