Overview

You will pass through different locations starting with La Obra, continuing through Las Vertientes, El Canelo, Manzano Guayacán arriving at your first point: Plaza de Armas San José de Maipo. Then you will continue through Peach San Alfonso arriving at your second destination: Tinoco Tunnel, appreciating the railway that crosses the mountain with its beautiful landscapes.
You will continue your tour of the town of San Gabriel until you reach the Lagoon of the Reservoir of the Gypsum, embedded in the Andes Mountains, and then visit a waterfall located in the same sector.
You will continue to Las Melosas, a historical and natural corner that invites the exploration and enjoyment of the Andean landscape.
You will finish the tour at Casa de Chocolate, a place where you can enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and share flavours that you will not find elsewhere, where the main ingredient is chocolate in its various varieties.

Activity itinerary

El Canelo (Pass by)

At kilometre 20 of route G25 at 850 metres high we will be in the town of El Canelo, which owes its name to the sacred tree of the Mapuche, which is also found in the wet ravines existing in the sector. From here you can access Cerro Purgatorio with 2,466 metres high and also observe buildings of heritage value.

El Manzano (Pass by)

El Manzano, at 889 metres high, is the fourth town that we can find entering the Cajon del Maipo. Invite visitors to tour among native trees such as boldos, thorns and quillayes, the estuary the Apple. As well as practising mid-mountain trekking in Cerro Las Torrecillas, Palestras and Piedra Rommel

Guayacan (Pass by)

Picking up the route along the road G-25, at 910 metres above sea level, we can find the sector of Guayacan town that owes its name to the existence of a tree species of the same name, which has a hardwood with excellent quality veins

Tunel Ferroviario del Tinoco

The old Tunnel El Tinoco is a cultural heritage of the Cajon del Maipo, which houses the vestiges of the train that connected the commune of Puente Alto and the locality El Volcán (nowadays converted into a heritage train), but in 1985 after the lifting of the tracks would be abandoned.

Embalse El Yeso

The Gypsum Reservoir is one of the many destinations that it would take us to visit. With an imposing landscape of snowy mountain ranges, and waters that captivate all who visit it, El Yeso Reservoir emerges as one of the must-see that this mountain area offers us.
