Meeting/Redemption Point

    • Located 6km from the junction of SH47 or 12kms from junction SH1 you will see the parking area for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing on SH46. The bus or van will be parked at the end of the Ketetahi Access Road to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. It should be obvious with the number of vehicles and other people who will also be parked there. We suggest you look for the two traffic cones by the sign pointing up to the track. Its safe parking and Free to park if you follow the road rules! Please also note any No parking signage and please dont park close to the road junction where it obstructs buses turning and visibility. Please call our mobile contact number if you are unable to find us at least 5 minutes before departure time.

What you can expect

Take on what has been rated the best one-day hike in New Zealand, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, at your own pace with a one-way shuttle bus to the start of the trail. Park your car in the car park where the hike finishes so you can depart in your own time afterwards. No need to wait for another shuttle!

Drive your vehicle to the Ketetahi Car park area where you will be picked up and transferred to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing trailhead by the shuttle bus. Then, embark on a 6- to 8-hour hike that offers some challenging climbs and breathtaking views of the Tongariro National Park.

Take the worry out of missing the bus in the afternoon while enjoying the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with a convenient single-trip shuttle to the trailhead. As the hike finishes back in the car park where you leave your car, you have maximum flexibility to go at your own speed.

Our shuttle is either a 20 seat Toyota Coaster Bus fitted with Aircon and Seatbelts for maximum comfort or our smaller 8 seater 4wd Van.
