✨What we will visit✨
✔️DN Tower 21 (MacArthur's HQ): We start at the exact office building where General Douglas MacArthur governed Japan. This was the “brain” of the American Occupation and the place where the modern Japanese constitution was born.
✔️Kusunoki Masashige Statue: A massive bronze samurai that hide a dark secret. I’ll explain why this 14th-century warrior became the ultimate inspiration for Kamikaze pilots and the symbol of absolute loyalty to the Emperor.
✔️Nijubashi Bridge (Imperial Palace): The most iconic view of the Palace. Here, we will discuss the dramatic scenes of the day Japan surrendered.
✔️Former Imperial Guards Headquarters: A beautiful red-brick building that survived the firebombing. It was the stage for a secret military coup attempt on the very last night of the war.
✔️Nippon Budokan: Known today for concerts and martial arts, this “Octagon” was built to show the world Japan’s spiritual rebirth. We’ll see it through the lens of post-war reconstruction.
✔️Yasukuni Shrine & The Zero Fighter: Our final stop. We will visit the lobby of the Yushukan Museum (free access) to stand face-to-face with a legendary Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter plane and discuss the complex legacy of war.
