Activity itinerary

Kouichi Store is a long-established kimono shop with a history of over 170 years. Your experience begins at the historic tea room Rakuu-tei, located inside the serene Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Upon arrival, our staff will guide you in selecting a kimono from a range of seasonal designs. Seasonal Note: From June 1 to September 30, we offer yukata (a lightweight summer kimono) instead of regular kimono, so you can enjoy the garden comfortably during warmer months. The full process—including reception, selection, dressing, and simple hairstyling for women—takes approximately 60–90 minutes. Once dressed, you are free to explore the garden at your own pace. Please arrive by your scheduled start time. Late arrivals may result in longer wait times as other customers will be prioritised. Please note that the final return time is 5:00 PM. To make the most of your experience, we recommend booking an earlier time slot. Our professional dressing team will provide everything you need, including an obi belt, tabi socks, traditional sandals, and a Japanese-style handbag. After your stroll through the garden, please return to Rakuu-tei for kimono removal.
