Size:** Approximately 20,226 square kilometres (7,809 square miles).
Wildlife: Home to a range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalo, various antelope species, and numerous bird species (over 570 recorded). Ruaha is particularly recognised for its large elephant population, which is one of the largest in East Africa.
Ecosystem: The park features a mix of savanna, woodlands, and riverine landscapes. The Great Ruaha River runs through the park, providing a vital water source for wildlife, especially during the dry season.
Best Time to Visit: Typically, the dry season from June to October is ideal for wildlife viewing, as animals gather around water sources.
