What you can expect

Day 1: Arrival in Samtse, Monastery Visit, and Sunset at Tarey Bhir

Arrive in Samtse and check into a peaceful lodge or countryside homestay. In the afternoon, visit the Samtse Chorten and explore local village markets and orange groves.

Drive to Tarey Bhir Ridge for a sunset walk. Enjoy the warm golden light and capture stunning photos of the Himalayan layers. Walk the scenic 1.5 km ridge pathway before spending the night in a Samtse or Tarey Bhir village homestay.

Day 2: Full Day at Tarey Bhir, Sea of Clouds, and Buddhist Meditation Ridge

Depart before sunrise to Tarey Bhir and witness the Sea of Clouds phenomenon over Bhutan and the Indian plains. Enjoy a silent meditation walk along the cliff and explore the ridge-top Buddhist prayer zone, wind-blown pine forests, and 360° viewpoints.

In the late morning and afternoon, take a guided leisure walk to Neypo village, traditional homes, forest viewpoints overlooking the Bengal plains, and a small gompa near the ridge. In the evening, enjoy a local dinner of rice, khabsey, ema datshi, and steamed dumplings. Spend the night in Samtse.

Day 3: Samtse Local Sites and Return

Visit Khanagpa Goenpa or Dorokha area, peaceful hillside monasteries. Take a short nature walk through cardamom fields and riverside trails. Return to Phuentsholing, Guwahati, or Siliguri/Sikkim border depending on your onward travel.
