The Rocks is the birthplace of modern Sydney and one of the most historic areas in Australia. On this 3.5-hour walking tour, you will explore the place where the first European settlers arrived in 1788 and where the storey of Sydney began.
This small-group experience is limited to a maximum of 10 travellers, creating a relaxed and personal atmosphere. The walk covers about 2–2.5 km at an easy pace through the historic streets and hidden laneways of The Rocks.
Along the way, your Mandarin-speaking guide will share stories about convicts, sailors, merchants, and immigrants who shaped the early development of Sydney. You will see how this area changed from a rough colonial settlement into one of the most historic and vibrant districts in the city.
The Rocks is also a storey about change. Through the history of this district, the guide will invite travellers to think about how places change over time — and how change can also shape our own lives. Simple questions and conversations during the walk encourage travellers to observe the city and reflect on their own journeys.
The tour begins near First Fleet Park at Circular Quay and continues through historic locations such as Nurses Walk, Argyle Cut, and other hidden laneways that many visitors miss.
You will also enjoy beautiful views of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with good opportunities for photos.
During the walk, we will stop for a short break where travellers can rest, ask questions, and share travel experiences.
The tour finishes near the harbour in The Rocks, where you can continue exploring the historic streets, visit local cafés, or enjoy the harbour views.
