Schattenburg Castle, situated in Feldkirch, Austria, is a well-preserved medieval fortress dating back to around 1200. Constructed by Count Hugo I. of Montfort, it served as the ancestral seat of the Montfort family until 1390. The Habsburgs subsequently took control, administering the castle through appointed bailiffs.
