What you can expect

  • Experience the magical beauty of Sigiriya’s surroundings with a guided sunrise or sunset hike to the top of Pidurangala Rock. Start your adventure with a scenic tuk-tuk ride from your hotel in Sigiriya to the base of the rock.

Follow your friendly local guide as you climb through ancient monastery ruins and forest paths. The trail is moderate, with the final section involving a short rock scramble — but the reward is worth it.

At the summit, take in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding jungle, villages, lakes, and of course, the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress standing proudly in the distance. It’s the perfect time to relax, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and capture incredible photos as the sky turns vibrant with colours.

Whether you choose the golden hour of sunset or the calm magic of sunrise, this short hike offers one of the most memorable experiences in Sri Lanka.

After soaking in the views, descend at your own pace and return by tuk-tuk, filled with unforgettable memories.
