Over a period of 15 years, this signalman worked part-time to create a city model unlike any other in the world, using scrap materials, bulky waste, paint, and glue. Every single element is unique: Over 450 buildings at a scale of 1:160, 2,500 hand-painted vehicles, and 4,000 trees bring the past to life. Particularly fascinating are the 2,500 individually crafted gravestones and the former, fully functional signal box, featuring an 8-meter-long (26-foot) control panel and 8 control desks.
Nothing is made from prefabricated kits! Wolfgang Frey himself researched, planned, and built everything with the utmost precision. Looking at the streets, the buildings, the trains, and even the smallest details, such as trash tins and fences, brings the city's history to life in miniature. Every building tells a storey, and every scene has been crafted with a wealth of small details that will amaze you.
