Kodachadri Peak, surrounded by the lush Mookambika National Park, offers a perfect setting for stargazing. As the tenth-highest mountain in Karnataka and a popular trek in the Western Ghats, it has earned the designation of a “Natural Heritage Site” by the state government. The remote location, free from light pollution, ensures that on clear nights, you can see the Milky Way Galaxy and countless constellations without the need for a telescope. Situated in the medicinal plant zone of the Western Ghats, the night air is often filled with the soothing aroma of herbs. The best time to visit is during the new moon when the skies are at their darkest.
