Begin your shared experience just outside the Galleria San Pietro, where your licensed guide will welcome you holding a “MiRò Tours” sign. After a short introduction in the iconic St. Peter’s Square, you’ll receive your radio headset to follow the explanations comfortably during the visit.
Start your journey by entering the Vatican Grottoes, located beneath the Basilica’s floor. This sacred underground area holds the tombs of many popes and saints, including the one traditionally attributed to the Apostle Peter. Surrounded by silence and reverence, you’ll gain insight into the origins of the Catholic faith and the centuries of devotion that shaped it.
Then, continue into the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most important and beautiful churches in the world. Admire masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Pietà, Bernini’s Baldachin, and the breathtaking mosaics that adorn the walls and ceilings.
During the tour, your guide will also accompany you through the Holy Door, symbol of forgiveness and spiritual renewal. Please note that, in accordance with Vatican regulations, no explanations can be provided while passing through the Holy Door—but the moment will speak for itself.
This guided tour lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and does not include access to the Dome. It’s the perfect way to experience St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Grottoes with the insight of an expert guide and the convenience of an organised group visit.
