Overview

  • Turn the mountain drive between Revelstoke and Lake Louise into a story-filled journey through three national parks. Allow about 2½ hours for the roughly 225 km drive, plus any optional stops. This self-guided smartphone tour has 25 mapped itinerary entries and 40+ GPS-triggered Tripvia stories, with highlights including Rogers Pass, Golden, Yoho National Park, the Kicking Horse River and Emerald Lake.

    Start at either end and explore at your own pace in your own vehicle. Download the tour before departure for offline audio and a live GPS route map; pause and resume whenever you like. There is no in-person guide. Park admission, optional attraction entry and detours are separate. Some mountain roads and visitor facilities have seasonal or construction-related access changes; the Rogers Pass Centre is closed for rehabilitation, with visitor services at nearby Summit Station.
