On arrival in Noto, called the ‘capital of Baroque’. its historic centre was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. Free time of approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to discover the beauties of the Baroque city on your own. Through the Porta Reale (Royal Gate) we will walk along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, an elegant street that crosses the historical centre of the city, to admire the Church of S. Chiara, Palazzo Landolina, the Cathedral of S. Nicolò, until we reach the Church of S. Domenico and the Municipal Theatre.
From here we will reach Syracuse and the island of Ortigia, the baroque heart of the city.
A walk along the Foro italico will take you to the Fountain of Arethusa, a freshwater spring that forms a natural pool with papyrus plants, located on a large terrace overlooking the sea. Next, the Cathedral Temple of Apollo and the magnificent Baroque square in which it stands. After visiting the Cathedral, you will have free time for lunch or alternatively visit some of the alleys near.
From here we will set off towards the last stop of our tour: the Neapolis Archaeological Park, the most characteristic part of the old Greek town. Accompanied by the guide you will visit the Greek Theatre, the Latomia del Paradiso, the Ear of Dionysius and the Roman Amphitheatre.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
