Your adventure begins with a comfortable transfer from the city of Puno, leaving the hustle and bustle behind to venture into the vastness of the high Andean landscapes. After a short drive, you will arrive at the Sillustani Peninsula, a pre-Columbian cemetery renowned for its unique architecture and prime location.

Accompanied by an expert guide, you will begin a gentle hike to the top of the complex. There, you will find yourself standing in front of the famous Chullpas, circular stone towers that reach up to 12 metres (39 feet) in height. You will learn to distinguish the fine carving technique of the Inca culture from the robust engineering of the Kollas, gaining an understanding of why this place was chosen as the final resting place for their most important nobles.

As you explore the site, Lake Umayo will unfold before your eyes like a giant natural mirror. The contrast between the grey ruins, the deep blue of the water, and the endless sky of the Altiplano creates an atmosphere of absolute peace. You will have time to take incredible photos and, weather permitting, witness the famous “golden glow” that bathes the towers at sunset, a moment steeped in mysticism.
