What you can expect

Begin your journey at 6:45 AM, departing from the Cusco bus terminal as the city slowly awakens. Your first stop will be the charming town of Andahuaylillas, where the beautiful Colonial Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas awaits. Enjoy a guided visit through this jewel of the Andes, admire its golden colonial canvases, and take in the striking mural known as “The Way to Hell and The Way to Heaven.”
Continue towards the archaeological complex of Raqchi, home to the majestic Temple of the God Wiracocha. Walk among its ancient walls, the serene artificial lagoon, traditional Inca houses, and the impressive line of Inca granaries that still stand as silent guardians of history.
Around midday, pause in the town of Sicuani for a comforting buffet lunch. Savour delicious Peruvian dishes and take a moment to relax and recharge.
Your adventure then leads you to the highest point on the route: Abra La Raya, the natural and cultural boundary between Cusco and Puno. From here, enjoy breathtaking views of the Chimboya mountain rising proudly to 5300 metres.
To close the day, visit the Lithic Museum of Pucara and step into the world of an ancient civilisation that flourished on the high plains over 2000 years ago. Discover its expressive stone carvings, admire the anthropomorphic figures that once held deep spiritual meaning, and be sure to see the iconic sculpture known as “The Beheader.”
You will arrive in the city of Puno around 5:00 PM, with a day full of memories and landscapes that stay with you long after the journey ends.
