What you can expect

  • Delve into the ecotourism of the Sierra de Juárez. The tour begins with a stop for breakfast at a restaurant in the highlands, where you can learn about and taste traditional mountain cuisine, from the traditional chocolate de agua to the moles and homemade jams of the region. Afterwards, you'll witness the making of the traditional molinillo, a tool used in traditional Oaxacan cuisine to whip up a frothy chocolate.

We'll take a guided tour of the village of San Pablo Guelatao, where one of Mexico's presidents, Benito Juárez, was born and raised. You'll learn about his history, his replica house, an enchanted lake, the community, and how Juárez went from being a shepherd to being president. Afterwards, be amazed by the panoramic views in Ixtlán de Juárez, home to the largest glass vantage point in the state of Oaxaca, as well as various ecotourism activities such as a suspension bridge or the vacuum sphere. Let the adrenaline rush through your body, because next we'll relax in Capulalpam de Méndez.

Capulalpam de Méndez is the first Magical Town in Oaxaca, known for being a vortex where we can feel the energy of our ancestors. This community is renowned for working with Zapotec techniques of traditional indigenous medicine. Let yourself be enveloped by relaxing massages or energy cleanses. You'll learn how the community continues to use ancestral techniques to this day.
