Meet at the Chao Ting workshop in Shantou and begin your experience by learning about the evolution of beef ball making, from the Zhou Dynasty’s “Dao Zhen” technique to the Chaozhou hand-hammering craft.

During the visit, you will get a closer look at how traditional skills are combined with modern production methods. Watch the production process and learn how a genuine Shantou-style beef ball is made with careful standards and craftsmanship.

After the introduction and observation, take part in the hands-on experience. Try using a hammer to pound the beef, then shape the mixture into beef balls with your hands under the activity arrangement. Finally, make a bowl of beef ball noodles and enjoy the result of your own DIY experience.

This activity offers a simple and engaging way to explore Chaoshan food culture, understand the making of one of Shantou’s signature specialities, and experience the craft behind hand-pounded beef balls in an interactive setting.
