⭐Gu Yi Garden · Old Times in the Bamboo Forest
Entering one of the oldest classical gardens in Shanghai is like opening a painting book from the Ming Dynasty.
Green bamboos sway gracefully, and the water pavilion reflects the scene. On the nine-arch bridge, the figures are sparse. The unmoored boat seems truly about to sail deep into the lotus pond. Here, there is no hustle and bustle; only the rustling sound of the wind through the bamboo leaves and the gentlest light and shadow of the afternoon.
It is suitable for walking slowly, sitting quietly, or doing nothing at all.
⭐Nanxiang Ancient Town · Beneath the Twin Towers, A Thousand-Year Reflection
Crossing the cobblestone paths of the old street, the first thing that catches your eye is the two silent thousand-year-old twin towers of Nanxiang Temple - the oldest brick towers in Shanghai and the deepest roots of this ancient town.
In the Nanxiang Historical Culture Exhibition Hall, time is encapsulated in old photos, old maps and miniature models, revealing the past and present of a Jiangnan water town in a gradual and unfolding manner.
Yunxiang Temple (Liu Yun Zen Temple) has a completely different atmosphere. It doesn't have the common yellow walls and dark tiles, but rather an imposing and serene Tang Dynasty-style temple with white walls and grey tiles, featuring sharp lines, as if it has come from the Tang Dynasty. The temple is filled with a gentle fragrance, making it suitable for a peaceful walk around.
Of course, the mouth-watering memories of Nanxiang are also hard to ignore. A single steaming bowl of authentic Nanxiang small steamed buns, with thin skin and tender filling, lifted gently, moved slowly, opening the window first, then drinking the soup - this is the aroma and charm of this ancient town. The Guiyuan Restaurant, Changxing Pavilion, and the time-honored stores on the old street - each one has its own fans. Choose any one and sit down, you won't be disappointed.
⭐Nan Xiang Impression City · Before Sunset, Encounter an Airborne Botanical Garden
When the ancient theme comes to an end, let's conclude in a different way.
In Nanxiang Impression City MEGA, there lies a “forest” that brings the tropical rainforest indoors. With over 200 kinds of plants, a “super moon” arch bridge, and interwoven light and shadow - this is not a garden, but a dreamland.
And when you reach the rooftop starwalk on the 6th floor, the scene before your eyes will tell you what “urban romance” is like. The colourful running track stretches beneath your feet, the setting sun paints the sky with an orange-pink watercolour painting, the evening breeze is just right, and the city has just quieted down.
Having dinner here and waiting for the sunset is the gentlest ending to this day.
