Activity itinerary

Observatoire de la Capitale (Pass by)

Begin your journey at Québec’s highest public viewpoint inside the Marie-Guyart Building. From here, the entire city unfolds beneath you — ramparts, rooftops, and the St. Lawrence River — a perfect prelude to the walk ahead.

Parliament Building (Pass by)

The province’s political heart, built in ornate stone and surrounded by statues of Québec’s key historical figures. The Tourny Fountain and manicured grounds frame this symbol of power and identity.

La Citadelle de Quebec (Pass by)

A star-shaped fortress carved into Cap Diamant between 1820 and 1850. Still an active military base, it overlooks the river and tells a storey of defence, deterrence, and endurance.

Morrin Centre (Pass by)

Once a grim 19th-century prison, now a centre of culture and literature. Its severe façade hides a layered past of confinement, reform, and education in the heart of Old Québec.

Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica-Cathedral (Pass by)

The oldest parish north of Mexico, repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. Its neoclassical façade, golden altar, and quiet resilience embody four centuries of faith and recovery.

Moment Spa Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac (Pass by)

Québec’s copper-roofed icon and the most photographed hotel in the world. Built in 1893 for the Canadian Pacific Railway, it still rules the skyline with effortless theatricality.

Terrasse Dufferin (Pass by)

A 430-meter wooden promenade that turned fortress ramparts into a public balcony. The views of the river and Château Frontenac make this the city’s most scenic pause.

Quartier Petit Champlain (Pass by)

One of North America's oldest commercial streets, once filled with traders and sailors. Today, it's a lively lane of cafés, ateliers, and history pressed into cobblestone.

La Fresque des Quebecois (Pass by)

A monumental 450-square-meter mural blending four centuries of Québec’s storey. Painted figures of explorers, artists, and citizens lean from illusionistic balconies.

Place Royale (Pass by)

The birthplace of French America, where Champlain founded his first settlement in 1608. The small stone church and surrounding square remain the spiritual core of Old Québec.

Le Grand Marche de Quebec (Pass by)

End your walk by the river at the Old Port, where Québec’s food traditions meet its maritime soul. Once a bustling farmers’ market, it still carries the scent of maple, bread, and tidewater air.
