Your evening escape begins with a breathtaking drive to Y Linh Ho, the gateway to the Muong Hoa Valley. As the car winds down the mountain, the majestic Hoang Lien Son range begins to reveal itself in the soft, late-afternoon light. We will stop at a spectacular, less-frequented viewpoint where you can see the oldest rice terraces in the region cascading thousands of feet down to the Muong Hoa River. This is the perfect introduction to the H’mong people’s landscape. Without needing to trek, you can observe the tiny wooden houses scattered along the mountain ridges and see the local farmers returning from the fields with their buffalo. The silence of the highlands here, broken only by the sound of the wind, sets a peaceful tone for the culinary and cultural journey ahead.
