The day is spent following the reindeer through the tundra, observing herd behaviour, and taking part in daily herding tasks when appropriate. This may include checking animals, assisting with feeding if needed, and learning how Sámi herders guide and protect the herd during winter. Throughout the day, you learn how Sámi winter life adapts to changing conditions — reading tracks, snow quality, wind, and terrain. Breaks are taken outdoors or back at the cabin depending on conditions. In the evening, return to the cabin or lavvu for fire, food, and rest. Time is spent sharing meals, stories, and quiet moments in the Arctic winter.
