What you can expect

  • The activity starts in Santa Barbara de Samana. Once you arrive at the meeting point and meet your local guide, they will take you to the port to head to the islands.

    The boat ride from Santa Barbara takes about 15 minutes. As you cross the bay, enjoy the views of Samana Bay. When you arrive at Levantado Island, put on your swimming costume and life jacket before heading to Farola Island.

    The journey from Levantado takes about 30 minutes. During this part of the trip, explore more of Samana Bay and see starfish, corals, and the magic of the Caribbean Sea meeting the Atlantic Ocean.

    On Farola Island, walk along the trail and learn about the island's flora and fauna before snorkelling and swimming.

    After visiting Farola Island, return to Levantado Island by kayak or boat to try local food and enjoy the white-sand beach, also known as Bacardi Island.

    At about 4:00 PM, meet to board the speedboat for the final ride back to Santa Barbara de Samana. Your local guide will make sure you know how to return to your accommodation.
