Begin your adventure with an afternoon pickup from your hotel and a scenic drive to Wadi Dawkah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its centuries-old frankincense trees. Walk among the groves and take in the peaceful desert surroundings scented with the natural aroma of frankincense resin.
Next, visit the ruins of the Lost City of Ubar, once a thriving trading hub on the incense route. Explore the remains of this mysterious settlement and hear fascinating stories of its rise and fall from your knowledgeable guide.
On the way deeper into the desert, stop at a camel farm, where you’ll meet friendly camels and see how they’re raised by local Bedouins. You’ll also have a chance to taste fresh camel milk—a traditional desert delicacy packed with nutrients.
As the sun begins to lower, get ready for a thrilling ride over the golden dunes. Your driver will take you dune bashing across the dramatic landscape, offering exciting photo stops and panoramic views. End this part of the journey by watching a spectacular desert sunset, where the shifting sands glow in shades of gold.
After sunset, arrive at your traditional Bedouin-style desert camp, where a freshly prepared Omani dinner awaits you. Omani dinner is included in the price, featuring traditional dishes with grilled meats, rice, and salads. Guests also have the option to try local delicacies like camel meat, known for its unique and delicious flavour.
After dinner, gather around the campfire to relax with shisha (optional) and warm Omani tea and coffee. The desert silence and absence of city lights make this one of the best places in the world to see the stars. Gaze up at a sky filled with thousands of stars, and if you're lucky, catch a shooting star or the outline of the Milky Way.
When you’re ready to rest, retreat to your private tent, set up for comfort and privacy. Tents are provided separately for each group (solo, couples, or families), and basic bedding is included. The peaceful desert night offers a rare kind of calm and quiet that's hard to find anywhere else.
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, a magical moment as the desert slowly comes to life with soft light and golden tones. Afterwards, enjoy a desert breakfast, before packing up and returning by 4x4 to Salalah. You'll be dropped off at your hotel with unforgettable memories of Oman’s vast and beautiful Empty Quarter.
