What you can expect

Begin your journey with a hotel pickup in a comfortable 4x4. Travel west of Salalah, where you will stop along the way to observe camels in their natural environment. See female camels and their young calves roaming freely, offering an authentic glimpse into traditional desert life. Your guide will share insights into how camels support local families and their importance in Dhofari culture, with time for respectful observation and photos.

Stop 2: Ayn Razat Spring
Nestled at the base of the Dhofar Mountains, Ayn Razat Spring is a lush and peaceful green escape, especially vibrant during the Khareef monsoon season. Take some time to stretch your legs, capture beautiful photos, and breathe in the cool, fresh mountain air before continuing the journey.

Stop 3: Into the Frankincense Trail
As you ascend the winding mountain roads, your guide will point out the first Boswellia sacra trees clinging to the cliffs. These trees are the source of the world’s most prized frankincense. You will stop at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the “Hidden Beach,” a secret turquoise bay that few travellers ever get to see. Further along, you will visit a wild frankincense tree growing in its natural habitat. Your guide will teach you how to identify the trees, let you smell the raw resin, and share stories of how this ancient trade made the Dhofar region famous across empires.

Stop 4: Fazayah Beach — Swim & Refresh
You will arrive at Fazayah Beach, one of Oman’s most untouched and scenic coastlines. Here, golden cliffs meet crystal-clear blue waters, creating the perfect setting for swimming, sunbathing, or simply relaxing. Light refreshments, including Omani dates and bottled water, will be provided. Be sure to bring your towel and swimming costume.

Stop 5: Mughsail Sunset Ritual
Next, head to the dramatic cliffs of Mughsail Beach, where powerful sea blowholes send water skyward through the limestone rocks. Continue to nearby Marneef Cave, a natural viewpoint overlooking the rugged coastline. As the sun sets over the Arabian Sea, take a deep breath of the frankincense-scented air and soak in this perfect moment of peace and natural beauty.

Stop 6: Salalah by Night — Frankincense Market & City Lights
After sunset, return to the glowing city of Salalah. Begin your evening at Haffa Souq, where the air is thick with the fragrant scent of incense. Here, you can shop for various types of frankincense, body oils, and perfumes, while your guide helps you select quality resin and oils just like the locals do.

You will also make a quick stop at the majestic Sultan Qaboos Mosque, beautifully illuminated under the night sky.

Finally, visit Salalah Grand Mall, where modern Omani perfumers offer luxury blends deeply rooted in the frankincense tradition.
