Sahara Desert 3-Day Tour:From Marrakech to the Dunes Private
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
Begin your adventure early morning as we depart from Marrakech, crossing the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) nestled in the High Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning ksar famous for its ancient kasbah and its role as a filming location for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
(Optional: Visit Atlas Film Studios or explore Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate.)
Continue through the picturesque Valley of Roses, then arrive at the spectacular Dades Gorges, renowned for its dramatic rock formations and scenic beauty. Overnight stay in a charming local hotel or guesthouse in Dades, where dinner is included, offering a taste of regional cuisine.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading to the stunning Todra Gorges, a paradise for climbers and photographers alike. Take a short walk amidst towering cliffs or relax by the river. We then continue to Erfoud, famed for its rich fossils and mineral deposits.
In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. Embark on a captivating camel trek across the shimmering Erg Chebbi dunes to reach your desert camp. Witness a breathtaking sunset over the dunes, followed by a traditional Moroccan dinner, lively music around the campfire, and an unforgettable night under a canopy of stars—either in a luxury or standard desert camp, based on your preference.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Rise early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes before returning to the village by camel or 4x4. Enjoy breakfast and a shower at the camp or a nearby guesthouse.
Travel through Rissani, a historic trading town, then make your way through the lush Draa Valley, famous for its verdant oases and ancient kasbahs. Stop in Ouarzazate or Agdz for lunch, soaking in the scenic beauty along the way.
In the late afternoon, return to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, arriving in the evening around 8–9 PM, bringing your desert adventure to a memorable close.
