What you can expect

Learn to cook your favourite Thai dish with experienced cooking chef Apple at the Riverside Thai Cooking School overlooking the river flowing through Khao Lak’s town centre. Choose between a morning class with a market tour or an afternoon class with preparing of a sweet Thai dessert.

The Thai cooking class starts at the local Khao Lak market. Here you will choose the ingredients for your Thai dishes, learn about Thai herbs and spices and catch a glimpse of the daily hustle and bustle of local market life.

It's time to prepare and cook your dishes. This is where the fun really begins. The cooking chef Apple will teach you how to prepare your ingredients the Thai way. Starting with basic curry pastes and Thai seasonings, then cooking techniques before finally creating your impressive Thai meal.

After learning to cook your Thai food there is one more important step in creating a Thai meal to impress your friends. You need to present it in an appetising manner and you will even learn some simple food carving tricks. Then you all dine together in true Thai style and try all the other delicious dishes the class has cooked. I’m getting hungry just thinking about this.

All the fresh ingredients which are used for the Khao Lak Thai cooking class are sourced locally, fresh from the daily market. You will shop with no-plastic bags. Any left over food waste is turned in compost which is used in the herb garden at Riverside.

Morning Cooking Class

  • 09:15 - 09:40: Shop fresh ingredients at Khao Lak’s Morning Market
  • 09:40 - 10:00: Arrive at Riverside Thai Cooking School
  • 10:00 - 12:00: Get an introduction to Thai ingredients and start the class
  • 12:00 - 13:00: Enjoy the cooking class with your new friends and savour all your dishes
  • 13:00 - 13:15: Transfer back to your hotel

Afternoon Cooking Class

  • 15:00 - 15:15: Hotel pickup in Khao Lak
  • 15:15 - 15:40: Arrive at Riverside Thai Cooking School
  • 15:40 - 18:00: Get an introduction to Thai ingredients and start the class
