Experience the essence of Rio in Pedra do Sal, a place where history, music, and joy come together in an unforgettable experience. It's considered the birthplace of samba and is full of Afro-Brazilian culture.
We'll visit its streets, briefly learn a bit about its history, and visit places like the Valongo Wharf, a historic site declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as it was the main port of entry for enslaved Africans in Latin America.
Today, Pedra do Sal comes to life every week with incredible outdoor parties. Between laughter, caipirinhas and live samba, locals and tourists dance together as one family. We include some shots to make it even more fun.
If you're shy and not very sociable, don't worry, the energy we create is enviable. The dancers and musicians will get you dancing like an expert. We'll have raffles for drinks and souvenirs, and you can have shots while we walk to our destinations. If you don't drink alcohol, you're also welcome. Come and meet great people.
The meeting point is at Pedra do Sal (Largo de São Francisco da Prainha).
VERY IMPORTANT:
Depending on the time and day, our schedule may vary a bit.
On Fridays and Saturdays, there are fewer people in Pedra do Sal, but it's still a lot of fun. The biggest and most famous party is on Mondays.
Every Monday at 11:30 PM, we go to a club that is very close by to continue the party. The samba circle ends at midnight, and then there's lots of music and people to keep enjoying the party.
You can arrive after the activity starts. That's no problem. You'll enjoy it just the same.
If you have any questions, please ask us, and always remember that your well-being, safety and happiness are our priority. We're going to walk, so wear comfortable shoes and casual clothes, or whatever you think is most appropriate for parties and photos.
