    Nestled in dense dry tropical forest, Rio Negro Hot Springs offer a serene escape. Crystal-clear, mineral-rich waters flow beside 10 riverbank pools, naturally heated by Rincon de la Vieja — Guanacaste's largest and most active volcano. Two suspension bridges provide access to pools on both riverbanks.

    Enjoy the therapeutic benefits of hot volcanic mud for a spa-like experience, then rinse off in the river before returning to the thermal pools. Changing rooms, bathrooms, and lockers are available at the entrance, followed by a scenic 350-meter walk through the forest to reach the springs.

    Next, head to La Oropendola Waterfall on a self-guided trail crossing varied terrain, including hanging bridges. Cascading 25 metres into a turquoise pool within the lush Blanco River canyon, it creates an extraordinary tropical oasis.
