We will meet at the meeting point and head for the start of the trail. The hike is easy, lasting about 30 minutes, and takes us through stretches of Atlantic Forest to the top of the mountain, which offers some of the most beautiful views of Rio. The hike is easy and takes place at a comfortable pace.
Once we reach the summit at 696 metres (2,283 feet), we will enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Rio de Janeiro, overlooking the ocean, beaches, mountains, and green areas to the south and west. We will take breaks for contemplation, photos, and a short, optional guided meditation session.
After the descent, we will head to a special, hidden beach. Here, you can swim, sunbathe, relax, or watch/play a game of altinha, a traditional beach pastime among Rio de Janeiro locals. Sometimes there are beach huts that rent out umbrellas and chairs, depending on how wide the stretch of sand is.
The order of the activities can be reversed.
The hike is suitable for people with little or no trekking experience, as it does not require a high level of physical fitness. Along the route, it is common to spot animals such as capuchin monkeys, tamarins, beautiful butterflies, birds, and various species of Atlantic Forest plants. More rarely, you might encounter coatis, toucans, bush dogs, and sloths, making the experience even more enriching for nature and wildlife enthusiasts.
Depending on weather conditions and with prior arrangement, the experience can be combined with a hang gliding flight (hike and fly), making the tour even more special and unforgettable.
Get ready to experience an unforgettable day amidst mountains, forest, and the sea, enjoying the best views of Rio de Janeiro!
