What you can expect

  • Listen closely as the forest changes after sunset. On Living Forest After Dark at Buena Vista del Rincón, a rustle among leaves or a call in the darkness becomes an invitation to stop and discover more.

Spend one hour with a Spanish-English guide exploring the nocturnal life of Guanacaste’s forest in the Rincón de la Vieja region. Look for signs of insects, amphibians and other creatures active after dark, learning to notice details that can pass unnoticed by day.

The pleasure is in paying attention together: listening, looking carefully and following your guide along the indicated route. Wildlife encounters depend on natural conditions and are never guaranteed. The experience is a guided night walk; dinner and hot-spring admission are not included.
