Activity itinerary

Pariser Platz

  • 5m
The individual stations vary depending on where our meeting place was and are not chronological! We dive from Pariser Platz through the Brandenburg Gate, the Classicist Manifesto of former modernism, into the 17th century. On June 1, pass the "shore" of Gerhard Marcks and drive towards John - Foster Dulles Allee, this great road on the north edge of the Tiergarten, along the shore. The government quarter is located on the street as a panorama. Photo stop!

Carillon

  • 10m
The Carillon in Berlin's Tiergarten is an imposing, hand-playable carillon and an architectural highlight. With a proud height of 42 metres, it is one of the largest of its kind. While the bells sound automatically daily at 12 : 00 and 18 : 00, the regularly held live concerts are a special experience. Current dates for these performances can be found in the daily press.

Haus der Kulturen der Welt

  • 15m
The design is part of the legendary Hansaviertel, where the crème de la crème of architects (such as Walter Gropius or Oscar Niemeyer) was allowed to let off steam in the 1950s. The building was built in 1957 as a US contribution to Interbau (a huge international building exhibition). It was a gift from the Americans to West Berlin and was meant to be a symbol of freedom and modern spirit. The architect Hugh Stubbins created a masterpiece of post-war modernism here that still looks futuristic today.

Victory Column (Siegessaule)

  • 15m
Passing Bismarck, Roon and Moltke, we greet the goddess of peace, our Gold Else. Different century, but no less interesting and sometimes very topical in its messages. From here we dive into Altonaer Straße towards the heart of our tour the Hansaviertel.
