What you can expect

We'll start at our agency or pick you up at your accommodation to begin our adventure exploring the geological richness of the territory. The first town we'll pass through is Curarrehue, which in Mapudungun means “Stone Altar” and has been sculpted by the force of glaciers and erosion.
We'll continue the tour to Puesco, which means “Water of the North.” Here, we'll have a privileged view of the Las Peinetas rock formation or Sierra Millallifen, a natural monument born from the collision of tectonic plates. Arrive at Villarrica National Park and Quillelhue Lagoon.
During the excursion, we'll visit the beautiful Quillelhue Lagoon, Escondida Lagoon, and Huinfuica Lagoon at the foot of the Lanín Volcano, the highest in the Araucanía region at 3,747 metres above sea level, surrounded by native forest, flowers, and ancient araucarias, in an environment of tranquility and pure nature. These glacial lakes are famous for their crystal-clear waters and their direct connection to the Andes mountain range.
The tour combines gentle walks for 4 kilometres, panoramic stops, and time to enjoy the surroundings, take photographs, and learn about the natural and cultural history of the territory. At the Huinfuica lagoon, we'll have a stop to eat, enjoy, swim, and appreciate the flora and fauna. The entire journey is accompanied by local guides, who will share information about the geography, flora, fauna, and the importance of the Lanín Volcano for the Mapuche people and the region.
On the way back, we'll stop in the village of Curarrehue to wrap up our activity with a refreshing natural juice on the banks of the Trankura River and visit local artisans at the “Walung” fair, which means “Summer,” and also learn a little more about the businesses, culture, and its people.
Once finished, we'll head back to the agency or drop you off at your accommodation.
