Welcome to the Colchagua Valley a land where the soul of Chilean wine comes to life. This full-day experience is designed for wine lovers who crave more than a tasting a true immersion into the landscapes, flavours, and stories behind Chile’s most iconic wines.
Your journey begins in the heart of Apalta, at Neyen Winery, nestled among ancient vines and steeped in heritage. You'll be welcomed at the valley’s oldest winery before starting a sensory walk through the Aromas Garden, where you’ll awaken your senses and learn to recognise the natural aromas found in the wines. Next, stroll among the 130-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon vines, the foundation of their acclaimed Primus The Blend. Along the way, you’ll explore their organic, regenerative, and biodynamic farming practices that honour the land and its rhythms. The visit concludes with a guided tasting of three emblematic wines: Primus Carménère, Primus The Blend, and Neyen Espíritu de Apalta, all served in the winery’s charming and historic tasting room.
After this deep connection with the vineyard, it’s time to indulge in the local gastronomy with a lunch tailored to your preferences. You’ll choose between two exceptional restaurants:
Fuegos de Apalta, a refined open-air restaurant by famed chef Francis Mallmann, where food is crafted over open flames using seasonal ingredients. Every dish is a tribute to the land, paired beautifully with the wines of Viña Montes, all set against a breathtaking vineyard backdrop.
Rayuela Wine & Grill, at Viña Viu Manent, offers a rustic and relaxed countryside setting, featuring wood-fired meats, fresh local produce, and comforting Chilean specialities. The warm atmosphere and scenic views make it an ideal pairing with Viu Manent’s renowned wines.
In the afternoon, you’ll continue to Viña Viu Manent for the Carriage Wine Tour, a charming and unforgettable ride through the vineyards aboard a horse-drawn carriage. Begin at La Llavería Visitor Centre, visit the historic Malbec Room, and explore the Garden of Varieties, where you can see and smell different grape types. The guided ride takes you through the heart of the estate, culminating in a tasting of five premium wines that express the elegance and diversity of the Colchagua terroir. If it rains, the tour transforms into an enhanced indoor tasting experience with equally delightful surprises.
This is more than a wine tour it's a journey into the heart of Chile’s winemaking culture. With every vineyard, every sip, and every moment, you'll discover why Colchagua is the crown jewel of South American wine.
