Dafnes Valley

Dafnes is one of four PDO appellations on the Greek island of Crete in the southern Aegean Sea. The designation covers red wines from the Liatiko grape variety. These may be more conventional dry reds or sweet wines made from sun-dried grapes.

Let your senses guide you through the wineries counting nearly 20-30 years of wine-making tradition. Wander around a vineyard and enjoy breathtaking views relaxing under the shade of the pergola at the vineyard house. Diamantakis winery is a modern winery in Crete. It is located southwest part of Heraklion city in the heart of the Malevizi province, outside Kato Assites village. The Family's purpose is the production of high-quality wines with both respect and care towards the cultivation process. This is traditionally achieved by combining the unique microclimate of the area with the native varieties like Liatiko, Vidiano and Mandilaria. You will be having a tour of the winery and the vineyards. at the end of the tour, the host of the winery will start a tasting programme of 5 indigenous varieties. Diamantakis Winery produces one of the best "Vidiano" varieties on the island of Crete
