What you can expect
Relax on a beautiful drive around the historical charm of Victoria. This tour shows you the major historical landmarks and hidden gems around the city, from the greenery in the former quarry of Butchart Gardens to the Victorian mansion of Craigdarroch Castle, you see the city's most iconic sights.
Once you meet your guide, start off with a visit to Fisherman's Wharf, where you can check out the local houseboats and maybe visit a local common seal. From there, drive through the inner harbour to view historical structures such as the British Columbia Parliament Buildings and the Fairmont Empress hotel.
After you pass through the historical downtown and Canada's oldest Chinatown, travel through the James Bay heritage community and see the birthplace of Emily Carr, the famous author and painter.
Later on, your guide shows you the 127-foot-tall (38.8-metre) totem pole in Beacon Hill Park on your way to see the Lieutenant Governor's mansion and the Scottish Baronial exterior of Craigdarroch Castle.
Next, head north towards Brentwood Bay for a visit to Butchart Gardens. This 55-acre (22-ha) garden was made in a former limestone quarry, creating a spectacular layout of fountains, gardens, and ponds. After you've had time to explore the gardens, enjoy a scenic country drive through Saanich on your way back to Victoria.
