Description

Start your tour at Lovers Park in Miraflores, which offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, before driving through the main streets, plazas and avenues of Lima. Continue on to enjoy panoramic views of Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial centre that was important in ancient Lima culture.

At San Isidro, the city's financial centre, view an ancient pre-Inca shrine known as Huaca Huallamarca. Then head to the main square, where the Government Palace and City Hall are located. Visit the Cathedral and explore the Santo Domingo Convent, along whose corridors San Martin de Porras and San Rosa de Lima walked during the 17th century, and where their remains now rest.

Next, admire the private collection of Mujica Gallo, who devoted his life to the preservation of Peru’s historical heritage. He established the Peruvian Gold Museum Foundation, where over 2,000 pieces of gold, silver and brass belonging to the Mochica, Chimu and Inca cultures are on display. Among the most precious treasures are nose pieces, pots and utensils once used for religious purposes, as well as a few mummies.

In addition to Mr Gallo's gold collection, marvel at the Weapons of the World collection, a massive assortment of armaments. Learn about swords, daggers, crossbows and other relics once belonging to important figures of Peruvian and international history.
