Discover the palaces and parks of Potsdam, one of Europe's most enchanting places. Your guide educates you on this former home to kings, emperors and commissars as you travel through the years. Absorb the city’s fascinating history and relax in its lush green spaces.

Leave the urban buzz of Berlin behind and take the short train ride to Potsdam – a former playground for the Prussian royal family. Their baroque palaces nestle in between green parks and lakes, creating a stunning environment. Admire the regal Sanssouci Palace with its yellow façade and surrounding gardens, full of follies and temples.

Continue to the mock-Tudor Cecilienhof Palace from the Hohenzollern dynasty, renowned for the meeting between Churchill, Truman and Stalin following WWII. The streets of the alluring Dutch Quarter allow your local guide to provide the narrative of the city’s role in the Cold War. Observe the former KGB jail and stand on Glienicke Bridge – a favourite location for spy swaps between the KGB and CIA.

Relax in the tranquil environment, enjoy some free time at lunch to sample a biergarten (beer garden), and make the most of your time in pretty Potsdam.

We were never informed that the Cecilienhof castle is closed for refurbishment. Great disappointment! It's a walking tour, but too much of walking, not suitable for most of the tourists. Nobody needs that much of a walk in the parks and seeing sites from a distance.

We expected to visit the Sansouci palace but didn't as the palace wasn't part of the tour. We could stay back and go back to our hotel on our own but the palace tickets were sold out .

Guide was more interested in marching than walking. I had a elderly relative with me. Unless under 40 don't bother with this it would be waste of time as you barely see anything. The things we saw were nice. Jarold was nice.
