Our experience on the Path of the Gods begins with a drive to Bomerano – Agerola.
I will provide you with a meeting point based on your accommodation in order to offer you a transfer service. The drive takes approximately one hour (the duration may vary depending on your accommodation and current traffic conditions); during the drive, you will have the opportunity to see other towns along the Amalfi Coast.
Once in Bomerano, we will begin our hike, a journey that will take us into an enchanted world, along a trail suspended between sky and sea, where our gaze meets the horizon, where nature reveals its majestic beauty, and where our eyes will be captivated by the colours of the flora and the wonder of encountering a peregrine falcon. Every step is an emotion; every glance, a work of art.
This is a place where effort is transformed into joy and gratitude, a route that connects us with the history, mythology, and legends of the coast.
Stone terraces, farmhouses, rock ruins, and ancient mule tracks, as well as vineyards and lemon groves, characterise this landscape.
Along the way, we will encounter local people, perhaps a few farmers with their mules returning with a load of firewood or the season's harvest, and, of course, the goats of the “Shepherd of the Gods.”
At the end of our route, we will stop for a picnic to discover time-honored flavours and delight you with local products and dishes prepared according to our farming and livestock-keeping traditions.
The route is approximately 7 km (4.3 miles) long, with an elevation gain of 350 m (1,150 ft) uphill and 250 m (820 ft) downhill. The trail runs along a cliff overlooking the sea, with sections through forest and mostly rocky, unpaved terrain. I recommend wearing shoes with slip-resistant soles and comfortable clothing in layers, depending on the season.
The trail connects Bomerano to Nocelle (a hamlet of Positano). We can either continue to Nocelle or return to Bomerano to get back to the car (depending on the route you choose, the location of our picnic will also be different).
