Visit Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II–Birkenau, the most important memorial sites related to the history of the Holocaust and World War II. During the guided tour of Auschwitz I, visitors will pass through the historic gate with the inscription “Arbeit macht frei” and see original brick barracks that now house museum exhibitions presenting the history of deportations, the daily life of prisoners, and authentic belongings taken from victims. The route also includes the courtyard between Blocks 10 and 11 with the Execution Wall, Block 11 known as the “Death Block,” and the first gas chamber and crematorium.

The second part of the visit takes place at Auschwitz II–Birkenau, the largest camp in the complex. Visitors will see the iconic entrance gate and railway ramp where transports of deported people arrived, the remains of prisoners’ barracks, and the ruins of the gas chambers and crematoria.

Our journey begins in Krakow (you'll be picked up from the address you provided in your reservation). The journey to Oświęcim takes approximately 1.5 hours. All our drivers speak English and are happy to answer any questions and provide assistance if needed. Upon arrival, there will be a short break for coffee and a tour of the outdoor exhibition. Afterwards, the entire group will be handed over to a licensed Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum guide.

Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau

  • 2h
The first part of the visit takes place at Auschwitz I, the main administrative camp of the Auschwitz complex, established by the Germans in 1940. Visitors enter through the historic gate with the inscription “Arbeit macht frei” and see the original brick barracks, which now contain museum exhibitions. The displays present the history of deportations, the daily life and suffering of prisoners, and include authentic items such as suitcases, shoes, glasses, and personal belongings taken from victims. Visitors will also see the courtyard between Blocks 10 and 11 with the Execution Wall, where many prisoners were shot, and Block 11, known as the “Death Block,” which contained punishment cells. The tour also includes the first gas chamber and crematorium, preserved as evidence of the crimes committed in the camp.

Brzezinka

  • 1h
The second part of the visit takes place at Auschwitz II – Birkenau, the largest camp in the Auschwitz complex, which functioned mainly as an extermination camp. Visitors will see the characteristic entrance gate with the railway ramp where transports of deported people from across Europe arrived. Across the vast camp area, there are remains of wooden and brick barracks where prisoners were held in extremely harsh conditions. During the visit, guests can also see the ruins of the gas chambers and crematoria that were destroyed by the Germans near the end of the war. The route also leads to the memorial and monument dedicated to the victims of the camp. Visiting Birkenau helps visitors understand the enormous scale of the crimes and the conditions in which hundreds of thousands of people were imprisoned and murdered.

Krakow
