The “The Disappeared Plan” puzzle tour is not an ordinary city tour, but an experience that transforms Würzburg's baroque backdrop into a living playing field. What makes the tour so special is the unique combination of culture, history, and play: Instead of passively listening, the participants themselves become explorers who gradually immerse themselves in the world of the great architect Balthasar Neumann.
The focus is on a mysterious building plan that was never published and whose fragments are scattered throughout the city. Equipped with a specially prepared investigative puzzle backpack full of locked compartments, puzzle cards, and unusual tools, each stop becomes an interactive challenge. Each solved puzzle opens a compartment in the backpack and provides another fragment of the plan until the complete picture is revealed at the end.
Another special feature is that the tour works analogously – without a tablet or mobile app. Participants work with tactile materials, real locks, and high-quality puzzle cards. This creates an immediate, authentic experience that challenges the mind, hands, and team spirit in equal measure.
A smartphone with mobile data is only required to listen to an audio sequence and scan a QR code.
The route covers some of the most important landmarks of Würzburg. The groups not only get to know Neumann's architecture, but also stories, secrets, and anecdotes that often remain hidden in the normal cityscape.
