The reason for Rema Orlia. According to the legend, Orlias, the ancient river of Pieria, “disappeared” from his shame, when he refused to purify the Mainades who wanted to wash their hands there from the blood of Orpheus. The river then entered the ground and came to the surface again just outside Dion, where it forms its waterfalls. Rema Orlia is one of the main streams of Olympus and has water all year round.

Our programme Rema Orlia - River Trekking begins with a 50-minute walk from the small chapel of Saints Constantine and Helen. Right after the chapel, begins the path that goes parallel to the bed of the stream “Orlia”. We walk on a beautiful path with running water all the way! Our hike ends at the emblematic “Red Rock”, one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Olympus with a height of 18 metres and you can cool off in its icy waters. Then we return from the same path and enjoy diving in the pedestals of Orlias. Our day is filled with wonderful images, coolness and fun!
