The Castle of Bran, or, as he likes the sensual amateurs, Dracula's Castle, built here more than 600 years ago, keeps and conveys to the visitor something of the pride of the knights who have crossed the threshold in his time. Bran Castle is located less than 30 km from Brasov, built on a rock, in a strategically key location. It houses the Bran Museum, a museum that stretches over the four floors of the castle. Here are exhibited collections of ceramics, furniture, weapons and armour, and in the courtyard of the castle there is a small museum of the village, with traditional houses from the region of Rucar-Bran.

The fortress was built in 1211 by Gothic Knights Teutoni and is listed on UNESCO's list of cultural heritage. To defend themselves against Turkish invasions, the inhabitants of the settlement, Saxon origin, built the walls of the Peasant Fortress in the fifteenth century. The fortress has the shape of a circle surrounding the Evangelical Church, walls 12 metres high and 3-4 metres thick. The fortress has been attacked 50 times by the Turks. It is said that the city once fell into the hands of the enemies, but only because they had come as friends, and after they had penetrated the fortress they turned into conquerors. Prejmer Fortress is the only tourist destination in Romania that has received three stars in the Michelin Green Guide for tourism. The Black Church in Brasov has received two stars, and the same distinction is made by the capital. "From what we know is the only tourist destination in the country that has won 3 stars in the Michelin Green Guide. It's a guide for familiar tourists, and about 10-15% of our visitors come after reading this guide. Last year we had over 60,000 tourists, "said Silvia Zeimes, manager of Prejmer Fortress. Attractions of the fortification The church houses one of the oldest altars in Transylvania, painted in the fifteenth century, but also many other unique attractions. "The Prejmer Fortress is the oldest fortified church in Barsa Country. One of the attractions is the staircase that is unique. There are basically 274 small rooms, one for each family in the village. The room number was the same as the house, so they are all numbered. Here people were sheltered in case of an invasion. Also, the Ward's Road beside the walls of the fortress is well preserved, and in the case of other fortifications it no longer exists. There is also the Order of Death, practically a plank with five rifles on one side and five on each other, which rotated and became a true machine gun.
