Overview

  • Escape Tokyo for a private 10-hour nature day in Okutama, combining forest swimming, an easy riverside walk, clear mountain water, and flexible outdoor experiences.

Default route: Tokyo hotel → Mitake Valley → guided forest-bathing/light walk → Tama River → Lake Okutama and Mugiyama Floating Bridge → Tokyo.

Guests may request seasonal rafting in advance; when selected, it replaces part of the standard route and is operated by a third-party activity provider. Rafting fees are not included unless specifically confirmed.

Contact us at least 24 hours before departure to confirm your preferred pace and activities. Weather, river conditions, trail conditions, water levels, traffic, and participant fitness may require route changes.

6- and 9-guest options include an English-speaking driver-guide who is not a licensed guide; the 13-guest option is driver only with no English guarantee.

Activity itinerary

Mitake Valley

  • 2h
Slow down beside the Tama River on an easy nature walk through Mitake Valley. Follow riverside paths surrounded by forest, listen to flowing water, take time for photographs, and enjoy a relaxed forest-bathing-style experience away from central Tokyo. The walk is designed as a light outdoor experience rather than a technical hike. Your English-speaking driver-guide can assist with route orientation, pacing, simple local information, and basic support, but is not a certified hiking or forest-therapy guide.

Lake Okutama

  • 1h
Enjoy panoramic mountain and reservoir views at Lake Okutama, one of western Tokyo’s best-known natural escapes. Stop at selected viewpoints for photographs, a short walk, and a quieter moment beside the water before continuing to the floating bridge area.

Mugiyama Floating Bridge

  • 30m
Walk across the distinctive Mugiyama Floating Bridge when it is open and safe to use. Enjoy the unusual sensation of crossing Lake Okutama just above the water while taking in the surrounding mountain scenery. The floating bridge may close due to low water levels, weather, safety conditions, or maintenance. If unavailable, another lake viewpoint or nature stop will be used instead.
