We conduct this activity in the mangrove forest at high tide. The Terraba-Sierpe Wetland is the largest wetland in Costa Rica. Here, you can observe a variety of animals, including waterfowl, reptiles such as crocodiles, lizards, and snakes, and mammals such as white-faced capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, and sloths. Participants learn a great deal about mangroves, their importance, their conservation, and the benefits we derive from them, and an educational talk is given to share information about their importance and protection around the world. The activity takes place in the village of Ojochal, and participants paddle through the river and the forest before reaching a beach and enjoying some free time.
