Diamond Head State Monument

We begin the day with a scenic stop at Diamond Head Lookout, easing into the island with sweeping coastal views and a chance to stretch your legs without any strenuous walking. From there, the tour flows naturally around the island, with thoughtfully spaced stops that balance iconic viewpoints, cultural landmarks, and relaxed local spots. Each stop is chosen for its visual impact and ease—short walks, unrushed time to explore, and plenty of opportunities for photos, snacks, or simply taking in the surroundings. The pacing is intentional, allowing you to enjoy Oʻahu without feeling rushed, overpacked, or worn out by the end of the day.

Kahala (Pass by)

After Diamond Head, we continue through Kahala, often referred to as the “Beverly Hills of Oʻahu.” This portion of the tour is a scenic drive-through, giving you a glimpse of one of the island’s most exclusive residential areas, known for its oceanfront estates, quiet streets, and luxury homes. While we don’t stop here, it offers a relaxed, informative look at a side of Oʻahu most visitors wouldn’t otherwise see, all from the comfort of the vehicle.

Halona Blowhole

Next we stop at the Halona Blowhole lookout for sweeping views of Oʻahu’s rugged southeast coastline, where lava rock cliffs meet the open Pacific. Depending on ocean conditions, you may see waves surge dramatically through the blowhole, but even on calmer days the contrast of deep blue water, black lava rock, and crashing surf makes this one of the island’s most striking coastal viewpoints. It’s an easy walk from the vehicle with time to take photos, feel the ocean breeze, and take in the scenery before continuing on.

Sandy Beach Park (Pass by)

After Halona, we continue past Sandy Beach Park, a legendary stretch of coastline known for its powerful shore break, golden sand, and raw ocean energy. This is a drive-by viewing, allowing you to take in the dramatic contrast of bright blue water, rolling waves, and wide open shoreline from the comfort of the vehicle. It’s one of Oʻahu’s most visually striking beaches and a favourite among locals, offering a glimpse of the island’s wilder, untamed side as we move along the coast.

Makapu'u Point

We stop at Makapuʻu Lookout for wide open ocean views, steep sea cliffs, and one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline on the island. This stop also includes a walk into historic World War II foxholes tucked along the ridge, offering a unique perspective you won’t get from the roadside. It’s an easy, short walk with a big payoff and a fun chance to stand in a piece of history while looking out over the Pacific.

Nu’uanu Pali

Perched in the Koʻolau Mountains, the Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout offers sweeping views of Oʻahu’s Windward Coast, lush valleys, and Kāneʻohe Bay. This historic site is also where King Kamehameha I won a pivotal battle that helped unite the Hawaiian Islands.

North Shore

We stop for lunch at Tanaka of Kahuku Shrimp, a local favourite on the North Shore known for its jumbo shrimp and bold island flavours. This is a relaxed food-truck style stop where you can grab a plate, sit back, and enjoy some seriously good shrimp done the local way. It’s casual, filling, and a fun taste of the North Shore food scene before continuing the tour.

Puaʻena Point Beach Park

Next, we stop at Turtle Bay Beach, where clear water, palm-lined shoreline, and North Shore views set the scene for a laid-back ocean break. This is one of our longer stops, giving you time to relax on the sand or jump in for some snorkelling when conditions are right. The reef here is approachable and beginner-friendly, making it a great spot to cool off, explore the water, or simply enjoy the scenery before heading into the afternoon.

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve (Pass by)

We pass by Hanauma Bay, one of Oʻahu’s most famous views, where bright blue water sits inside a volcanic crater like something straight out of a postcard. This is a drive-by stop, so there’s no parking, entry lines, or timed reservations—just a chance to admire the view from above and keep things moving. It’s a quick, no-stress way to appreciate why this spot gets so much attention without slowing down the day.

Sunset Beach (Pass by)

We pass by Sunset Beach, one of the North Shore’s most famous stretches of sand and a legendary surf spot during the winter months. This is a drive-by viewing, offering a look at the long shoreline, rolling waves, and wide open ocean that give this beach its name.
